Essaouira guide
2 or 3 Nights in Essaouira with a Surf, Kite or Cooking Pack

Two or three nights is the stay Essaouira handles well, and it is also the exact shape of the packs. The form is the part people get wrong: Solo or Duo, two nights or three, and one of three activities. This page is that choice. What a first surf morning feels like, what a first wingfoil try is, and how to spend the hours in town already have their own guides. Here you pick an option and book it.
1. The choice, in one pass
Every pack has the same skeleton. Solo is a bed in a dorm and the price is per person. Duo is a private room and the price is the total for two people. Two nights means two activities, three nights means three, one a day. Taxes are included. Free breakfast is included on every pack, with Wi-Fi, the rooftop and the shared kitchen.
The activity is the only part that changes: Surf, Kite / Wingfoil, or Cooking. If you want the short version before the reasoning:
- Alone, and fine in a dorm: Solo.
- Two of you, one room: Duo. Read the price as the bill for both of you.
- You can arrive in time for the first session: two nights.
- First try, or the bus from Marrakech lands after dark: three nights.
- Morning waves: Surf. Afternoon wind: Kite / Wingfoil. The medina and a table: Cooking.
Chill Art Hostel is inside the medina, a five to fifteen minute walk from the beach, past the ramparts and the fishing port. Cars do not reach the door. The walk is the same whichever pack you take.
2. Solo or Duo
Solo is a bed in a mixed dorm. The mixed dorms are the African Room, the Moroccan Room and the Music Room, and each has a locker for the hours you are out. The price next to Solo is per person. Tea and pastries at 18:00, and the rooftop after that, are where a solo stay becomes a shared one. You do not have to organise it.
Duo is a private room. The number on the pack page is the total for the two people in that room. It is not a per-person rate, and doubling it is how people misread the page. Two friends who each want a dorm bed book two Solos. A couple, or any two people who want a door that closes, book Duo.
One person who wants a private room is a different booking. The pack Duo is built as a room for two. A room on its own, with no lesson attached, is an ordinary stay: live availability is on the direct booking page. Nightly rates move with the season, so they stay on that page.
3. Two nights or three
The count is the activities. Two nights, two activities. Three nights, three. One a day. What changes is whether those days are days you can actually use.
Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out is at 11:30. Reception is open all night and there is no curfew. The road from Marrakech takes about two and a half to three hours, and the bus often arrives after dark. Essaouira-Mogador airport is about twenty minutes from the medina. Send reception your arrival time with the booking.
A surf lesson and a cooking class sit in the morning. A kite or wing session sits once the afternoon wind is in. An evening arrival is the journey, not an activity. A cooking class runs long enough that it does not fit on the morning you leave at 11:30. Count the activities on days you will be here for them.
That is the practical case for three nights. The first evening can be the bus, and you still have three activities on full days. Two nights is the right length when you walk in before the first session, and when two sessions is what you came for.
Three nights is also the useful length of a first try. The third session is where a new sport starts to feel repeatable. What those sessions contain is in the first surf-lesson week and the wingfoil guide. What to do with the hours that are not a lesson is in the three-day itinerary: the port, the ramparts, the souks.
If the trip is longer than the pack, the extra nights are a normal stay on the direct booking page. The activities stay inside the pack.
4. Surf, kite or cooking
Surf is the morning bay. It is sand, with no reef, and the inside stays shallow for a long way, which is why a first lesson belongs here. From April to September the trade winds usually fill in through the late morning, so the clean water is early. From October to March the swell is better organised and the wind is lighter, and a lesson can sit later. The lesson includes a board and a wetsuit. Bring a swimsuit and a towel. The shape of those mornings is the surf guide. Come back here for the length and the room.
Kite / Wingfoil is one pack and two sports. Both use the afternoon wind, and the season worth booking a first try around is April to September. The wing is the sail you hold, with no lines. The kite is the shorter path if you want to be riding by the end of a short stay. The gear is included. Tell the team which lesson you want, because the pack covers both. The bay, the first session and the wind calendar are in the wingfoil guide and the kitesurfing guide.
Cooking is the pack when the medina is the point of the trip, when someone in the pair will not get in the water, or when you would rather not bet the stay on the wind. A class is a morning in two halves: the souk, then the pot, then lunch together. Plan on three to four hours. What you actually cook, and why the market half matters, is in the cooking-class guide. On the pack it is one class a day, two or three of them, with the bed.
The form is one pack per booking. If the two of you want different activities, write to reception before you pay.
If you already ride and you came for a heavy lineup, this bay will feel gentle. That is the point of it for a first stay, and the limit of it after that. If you have two nights, you have not seen the ramparts, and a cooking class would take the only free morning, keep those hours for the town. The itinerary shows where they go.
5. What each option costs
The pack is one number: the bed and the activity. Solo is per person. Duo is the total for two. The euro amount is what the card charges. The dirham amount is the published price for a bank transfer, and it stays put when the exchange rate moves. Taxes are included.
| Pack | Solo, 2 nights | Solo, 3 nights | Duo, 2 nights | Duo, 3 nights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Surf | €78 820 DH | €120 1 230 DH | €170 1 800 DH | €255 2 700 DH |
| Kite / Wingfoil | €125 1 320 DH | €187 1 980 DH | €265 2 800 DH | €395 4 200 DH |
| Cooking | €89 920 DH | €130 1 380 DH | €170 1 800 DH | €254.99 2 700 DH |
Along with the bed and the activity, every pack includes free breakfast, Wi-Fi, the rooftop and the shared kitchen. At 18:00 there is tea and pastries, on the house.
6. Book the one you picked
Booking is a short form on the pack page: the pack, Solo or Duo, two or three nights, your arrival date, your name and a phone number. Card payment opens on that option. Paying in dirhams is a bank transfer via WhatsApp: the same step puts you with the manager at +212 600 150 138 for the bank details. A question before you pay goes to reception on +212 605 815 025.
Bookings are non-refundable, and that is written on the page before you pay. Price is not the reason to book with us. The big platforms are useful for seeing what a town contains. Booking here is how the sessions are attached to the stay before you land, and how you talk to the people who will be at the door.
Pick one and book it
Surf, Kite / Wingfoil or Cooking. Solo or Duo, two nights or three. Free breakfast is included on every pack. A bed without a lesson, or nights around the pack, starts from live availability.

What is the difference between Solo and Duo on a pack?
Solo is a bed in a mixed dorm and the price is per person. Duo is a private room and the price is the total for two people, not per person. Two friends who each want a dorm bed book two Solos. A couple, or two people who want their own door, book Duo. One person who wants a private room without a lesson books a normal stay on the direct booking page, where the live nightly rates are shown.
Should I book two nights or three?
Two nights means two activities and three nights means three, one a day. Choose two nights if you arrive in time for the first session and two sessions is what you came for. Choose three nights for a first try, or if the bus from Marrakech arrives after dark, because an evening arrival is not an activity. Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out is at 11:30. Surf and cooking sit in the morning, kite and wingfoil in the afternoon wind, and a cooking class does not fit on the morning you leave.
Which pack should I book: Surf, Kite / Wingfoil or Cooking?
Surf is the sandy morning bay, with a board and a wetsuit included. Kite / Wingfoil is one pack for both sports on the afternoon wind from April to September: tell the team which lesson you want, and the gear is included. Cooking is a morning class of three to four hours, souk then lunch, for a trip built around the medina, a partner who will not get in the water, or dates you do not want to bet on the wind. The form is one pack per booking. Free breakfast is included on every pack.
How much do the Surf, Kite and Cooking packs cost?
Solo is per person and Duo is the total for two. Surf: €78 (820 DH) and €120 (1 230 DH) solo, €170 (1 800 DH) and €255 (2 700 DH) duo. Kite / Wingfoil: €125 (1 320 DH) and €187 (1 980 DH) solo, €265 (2 800 DH) and €395 (4 200 DH) duo. Cooking: €89 (920 DH) and €130 (1 380 DH) solo, €170 (1 800 DH) and €254.99 (2 700 DH) duo. Order is two nights, then three. The euro figure is the card charge. The dirham figure is the bank-transfer price. Taxes are included. Free breakfast is included on every pack.
How do I book a pack, and is breakfast included?
Book on the pack page: Surf, Kite / Wingfoil or Cooking, then Solo or Duo, two or three nights, and pay by card in euros. Paying in dirhams is a bank transfer via WhatsApp with the manager at +212 600 150 138. Questions before you pay go to reception on +212 605 815 025. Bookings are non-refundable. Free breakfast is included on every pack. Extra nights, or a bed with no lesson, are on the direct booking page.
Adding nights around the pack?
Live availability and rates are on our own booking page. The packs, activity and free breakfast included, are booked on the pack page.
